Actress Madhoo – who has been part of hit 90s films such as Phool Aur Kaante, Roja, Allari Priyudu, Gentleman and more, is all set to play a pivotal role in Kartam Bhugtam. The upcoming psychological thriller – directed by Soham P. Shah, stars Shreyas Talpade and Vijay Raaz in lead roles, as well as Aksha Pardasany.
During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, while promoting her soon-to-release film Kartam Bhugtam, Madhoo got candid about many things. The actress opened up about ageism in the entertainment industry, saying no to the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Baazigar and working with the 3 Khans of Bollywood – Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and SRK in the 90s.
Madhoo on rejecting Baazigar
Revealing if she regrets rejecting Shah Rukh Khan-led Baazigar, Madhoo says, “I don’t regret not (doing Baazigar).” She elaborates, “Because past mein joh tha, ussi ke wajeh se hum yaha hai. Regret waisa main nahi karti. (We are what we are today because of how the past was.)”
Madhoo on working with Bollywood’s Khans
Talking about not starring in many films co-starring Bollywood’s Khans – Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, in the 90s, Madhoo says, “I did accept Aamir, I did have movies with Salman and Shah Rukh, which didn’t materialise, which didn’t release. Ek ek schedule ke baad band ho gaya… (One film got put on hold after its first schedule.) I don’t even give it a thought. This is exactly how my life played out. It’s just ok.”
