Rashami Desai opens up about fat-shaming criticism
Rashami has often been a source of inspiration for many, especially when it comes to embracing one’s individuality. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actress talked about how several women face criticism about their bodies. Speaking about it, she said, “Criticism about the body isn’t just limited to women but even men. Be it women or men, fat shaming of any form and type isn’t cool and shouldn’t happen. You never really know the exact reason why someone is of a certain weight. What if they are trying to lose weight but are unable to due to certain complications? It’s like adding salt to someone’s wound.”
She further added, “People should be more empathetic in nature. Just like anyone else, I too have had my share of judgements regarding my weight and body but I have stopped caring about them. I know what is best for me and what I need to do to engage in that direction. I don’t care.”

As someone with a sense of maturity, it’s important to understand what pressure should be taken and what should be ignored.”
“While a lot of people have given in to this kind of pressure, I am fortunate to have never given up to such pressure. I feel God has been quite kind with the way I have been made and I am grateful to the universe for the same. I am absolutely and entirely happy with how I appear. I receive a lot of love for the way I am and I only have gratitude for people due to this,” she concluded.
