EXCLUSIVE: Fahmaan Khan recalls being jobless for 8 months after demanding a hike

Actor Fahmaan Khan rose to fame after doing Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka? and then gained utmost popularity from Imlie. He is currently one of the most popular actors in the Television industry but did you know that he was jobless for 8 months as he demanded a hike after the success of Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka? He recalled the time when he rejected shows due to less budget and had to start from scratch by giving auditions. Fahmaan also revealed he had to do three cameos after rejecting lead role shows due to his ‘stupidity.’

Fahmaan Khan on rejecting lead roles

During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, the Imlie actor told us, “Dikhat nahi aa rahi hai meri ek khudki stupidity thi jiske wajah se mujhe teen show non-lead me karna pada mujhe. Kya Qusoor Hai Amala Ka? ke baad na mujhme thoda (pride) aagaya thi ki yaar show acha chal gaya, naam bann gaya aur mujhe laga ki paise zyada milna chahiye. And uss chakkar mein maine do shows aise hi chodh diye the jo mujhe kar lena chahiye tha kyuki budget nahi baitha. That is naive, that is not being mature, that is being stupid and I learned from that.” He then added that he shifted to a new place with his cat and several calls were coming in for shows. However, he kept rejecting it due to budget.

“Fir baithe baithe pata chali ki kab 8 mahina beeth gaye, calls aana bandh hogaye aur sab kuch bandh ho gaya.” Adding that he then started making calls to people and started from scratch. Fahmaan gave auditions for the roles after being jobless for 8 months. “That’s when I went back and I called everybody I knew and went back to do auditions, standing out, did things from scratch again and I bagged the next show Kundali Bhagya as a cameo.” He then went on to do cameos including one in Ishq Mein Marjawan. Fahmaan further said, “Aisa nahi tha ki dikat thi koi wo maine banayi thi dikat. Paao me khuladi maarna kehte hai na jisko,” adding that he took it sportingly as an experience.

Khan revealed the lesson he learned from his mistake

Fahmaan then said what he learned from his mistake. He said, “I learned not to take anything lightly, to get carried away with what you have. The good thing is that I learned it in that space when it was nothing when it was not a big jhatka to you. It wouldn’t have been a big jhatka if I had learned it now. I’m glad I learned it in that space.

Fahmaan Khan on nepotism

Speaking about the same, the actor said, “Jab aap koi star kid nahi hote ho, aapko options zyada nahi di jaati hai. I’m not complaining and it’s not wrong. I have never complained about being in this industry if you talk about nepotism. It does not matter to me. I believe agar sonar ka beta sonar banna chahta hai toh uska baap usko sonar banake ke liye sab kuch karega. But not being from that space, I don’t have too many options. I’ll try and select the little bit of options that I have and try to make the most out of it.
