Fardeen Khan speaks about doing Visfot
When asked how he agreed to play a man from Dongri in Visfot, Fardeen said, “I definitely had reservations. It was not something, I was expecting to be offered because I’ve typically played Urban romantic popcorn kind of roles that was earlier in my career. We’ve done some comedy which has been successful for me. Yes, this really woke me up. It scared me it made me nervous which was a good thing. I had to get it right, the way Kookie saw the role. It was Sanjay’s conviction, he said ‘Yes, you do this, you’re coming back after so long. Do something different, I see you in this role’. We even discussed maybe ‘I should do the pilot and Riteish should do the other role and he said no’.
“So I took it on as a huge challenge and of course, getting the body language right. I worked with an acting coach and a dialect coach Prabhat Ranganathan who helped me prep. Of course, Kookie was there through all our sessions, Krystle (D’souza), me and Prabhat and all had at least four sessions. It was also during a time when we had the luxury of preparing because it was around COVID. We really dove deep into it so and finally, now the audiences will decide whether we’ve succeeded or not but we’ve done our best. I’m happy with the way it’s turned out. I’m very grateful to work with this team.“
