Fatima Sana Shaikh owns undergoing therapy

While there are stigmas around therapy, Fatima Sana Shaikh insists everyone should take therapy, not because of the issues they face, but to get an understanding of how to deal with it. Sharing about the same, Fatima says, “It’s not about ke aapko koi issues hai, par aapka coping mechanism sahi ho jaata hai. Aapko samaj me aata hai ye jo chote issues ko itna bada banate ho, wo aapki problem hai. Wo aapko tools dega toh aap woh choti cheezo me nahi atke rahoge. (It’s not that you have issues, but your coping mechanism gets better. You understand it is a problem that you see small issues as huge ones. When you get the right tools, you don’t stay stuck with the small issues.)

Further, Fatima added that “You can achieve bigger things in life. Because there are so many problems and you are getting stuck with ‘what I did 10 years ago’. You make yourself the most important person in the world and then you realise it is not personal. The other person is going through their own issues and I have to work on myself and my reaction. So, I feel everybody should do therapy. It is so important.”

Well, Fatima did not just stop here. Further in the interview, the Dangal actress also shared that she did not want to become an actor and struggled to convey that she didn’t want to act.
