EXCLUSIVE: Gaurav Chopraa shares his personal struggle of coping with the loss of his parents during Covid-19

2020 was a difficult year for actor Gaurav Chopraa as he lost both his parents due to Covid-19. For the uninitiated, Gaurav lost both his parents in the gap of 10 days during Covid. Now, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Gaurav Chopraa got emotional as he opened up about dealing with the loss of his parents during Covid-19.

Recalling the difficult time, Gaurav said…

“Being an actor is tough sometimes. It’s not honkey-dory. Things don’t happen the way you want them to happen and you have to carve your literally peace by peace carve your path.”

Gaurav added, “You know hua kya I discovered a friend inside. I started listening to that voice inside and that guy helped me more than anybody else, more than any counselling, more than any support. There wasn’t any support in any case but it’s almost like when I had this, I kind of took it upon myself. So, I gave you the example of I said ok I should start going to the gym, a little extra to get two extra abs but when does that motivation come when you don’t even feel like getting up from the bed, when you’re depressed and down and dark and you have all kinds of thoughts where everything seems futile and you feel nothing is worth it. Aur apko lagta hai ki ye ho hi jaega toh kya hi hoga. Yeh duniya agar mit bhi jaaye toh kya hai, jala do iss duniya is the kind of vibe you’re in and uss vibe mein how do you produce a prince is that guy (points at himself)”

The actor went on to add, “Sometimes he would encourage me and sometimes woh datt tha mujhe and sometimes I’ve actually spoken to myself. So, sitting alone at home ‘chalo khada ho, chal jaa. Koi baat nahin, 20 minute ke liye jaa, jaao khade ho, chalo jao’ and sometimes you need to hear that from somebody you can trust.”

Further, Gaurav added that he felt lonely at that time but now he is a ‘stronger, better human being’.
