EXCLUSIVE: Isha Talwar on doing selective auditions post Mirzapur 3 success: “Ab aapne kaam dekh liya hai jo market mein hai, then why do you have to test?”

Actor Isha Talwar rose to fame after essaying the role of Madhuri in Amazon Prime hit series Mirzapur. Season 3 has recently been released and fans are mighty impressed with her character. She plays the Chief Minister in the series and netizens loved her performance of playing a calm and composed character. Though she garnered immense recognition after the success of Mirzapur season 3, there was a time when Isha Talwar used to give six auditions in a day. However, now, Isha said that she will do selective auditions and look-test for a particular part as now her work can talk for herself.

Isha Talwar on doing auditions over 12-13 years

During a candid conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Isha revealed that now she is tired of auditions. She feels that her work is in the market and if the director sees her in the part, then there’s no need for auditions.

Isha told us, “I think everybody is constantly looking for work. I think it has become a little easier kyuki 12-13 saal hogaye hai mujhe auditions dete huye. Ab dheere dheere saamne se call aajata hai that ‘we would like to cast you‘. Like maine Sudhir Mishra ka show kiya tha. Wo casting se direct aaya tha aur audition nahi dena padha. (It has become a little easier because I have audited for 12-13 years. Now, slowly, I get calls directly saying ‘We would like to cast you’. For example, when I did Sudhir Mishra’s show, it came directly through casting, and I didn’t have to audition.) You evolve with time, many people look at you differently over 12-13 years. If you stick around, if you are focused, toh mil jaata hai. (you get opportunities)”

Isha Talwar on doing selective auditions now post Mirzapur 3 success

When asked if she is still apprehensive about giving auditions now? She said, “Main de deti hu kabhi kabhi beech beechme. Main sab nahi dungi but main selective auditions de deti hu kyuki main 10 saal mein 6 auditions a day di hai toh main thak jaati thi. At this point, maine kaha ki main thak gayi hu aur maine 10 saal de diya hai and ab aapne kaam dekh liya hai jo market mein hai. Of course look test zaroori hai, do you fit in a certain part zaroori hai. Agar director ki imagination fired up and if they can see you in that part then why do you have to test? If you have trust and faith then I’ll deliver.“

(I do give them sometimes here and there. I don’t give all of them, but I do selective auditions because in 10 years. I’ve given 6 auditions a day, so I used to get exhausted. At this point, I said that I’m tired and I have given 10 years, and now you have seen my work that is out there in the market. Of course, a look test is necessary, to see if you fit a certain part is necessary. If the director’s imagination is fired up and they can see you in that part, then why do you have to test? If you have trust and faith, then I’ll deliver.)
