Ishaan Khatter had impressed all with his Bollywood debut movie Dhadak and delivered a heartwarming performance. Now, he is all set to star in his upcoming movie Pippa where he is playing the role of Captain Balram Singh from the Indian army. As soon as the Pippa trailer was released, there were conversations saying that Ishaan is too young to play the role of a captain of the Indian army. Recently, Alia Bhatt was also called young to play a role in Gangubai Kathiawadi. But then, the movie was released and the rest is history!

Now, in an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, we had the chance to speak with Ishaan Khatter. During the candid chat, Ishaan addressed the voices that call him young to play a role in Pippa after Alia Bhatt was also termed as the same.

Ishaan Khatter addresses being called ‘young’ to play a role in Pippa

The conversation began when Ishaan was told that Alia Bhatt was also called young to play a serious yet fierce role in Gangubai Kathiawadi. However, the actress left everyone speechless with her jaw-dropping performance post the release. Now, Ishaan Khatter is being called young to play the role of a captain of the Indian army in Pippa. Generally, a bit older actors are portrayed for the role in patriotic movies.

In our candid chat, Ishaan Khatter addressed being called young after Alia Bhatt was addressed in a similar way. Praising Alia’s role in Gangubai Kathiawadi, Ishaan Khatter said, “I would take that as a compliment. I think she was wonderful in the film and everybody knows that she is a trailblazer of an actress. I think that comes with doing something new and seeing something new.

He added, “I wouldn’t want to make any promises.I know it’s a big responsibility to take on a part like this and I am very aware of that. It’s probably the first time that age-appropriate casting in a big-scale army film.”

Further, Ishaan also added, “Balram sir was 26, and that is exactly the age I was when I shot it. Having said that, it is a big responsibility you have own that and there is a certain feeling to it. Ek ehsaas hai that people relate to a patriotic film like this. A film that makes you feel inspired and make you feel the gravity of what’s going on.”

Speaking about this, the Ishaan Khatter starrer Pippa also stars Mrunal Thakur. Pippa will have a release on Amazon Prime on 10th November.
