Television actor Karamm Rajpal who rose to fame with show Mere Angne Mein, is all set to feature in a unique love story on Colors TV titled Qayaamat Se Qayaamat Tak. The show chronicles the immortal love story of Rajneesh (Karamm Rajpal), a city-bred medical student, and Poornima, a resilient village girl. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, the actor opened up about his idea of love, dealing with heartbreaks and pressure of staying relevant.
Can you tell us about your show and character?
I truly believe in the concept our program is trying to showcase. The story is about rebirth. It’s about a person who dies and comes back to life just for the person to whom he or she has loved. I believe these stories are true. When I was briefed about the show, I read the book November Rain on which it is based and I was truly amazed.
Well, finding true love is not easy today and things have become more of situationship now. Do you agree with it?
I’m an extreme old-school person when it comes to love. I believe one can go to an extent and do anything for their partner. But if we look at today’s date, there are a lot of conditions in love that lead to situationship rather than a relationship. So, I feel people should unlearn today’s love and start learning the love of 25-30 years ago.
What have you learned and unlearned from your past relationships and how have you dealt with heartbreak?
I think heartbreaks are very important in life and one should cherish them. And with those moments and learnings, you can shape yourself and not do something that you have learned in the past relationship. You can strive to make your relationship more beautiful.

Do you constantly have this pressure of proving yourself and staying relevant in the industry?
I don’t have pressure, to be very honest. I just love my job. It’s been almost 15 years now in this industry and I have never felt I have to do this or that, or work in such a big channel and then go to a smaller channel, or vice versa. I’ve always loved whatever has come my way. And I enjoy the television space. Not everyone is fortunate enough to get this opportunity, so I feel blessed.
