Kritika on being open about her relationship
The actors met on the sets of the TV show, Kitani Mohabbat Hai. Karan and Kritika fell in love while shooting and dated for a few years before calling it quits. The two continue to remain good friends after break-up. Now, in the latest episode of Bollywood Bubble’s Flashback, Kritika revealed if she ever regretted being open about her relationship with ex-boyfriend Karan Kundrra during Kitani Mohabbat Hai. The actress said, “I don’t regret it because I think that happened to me very early on in life and it taught me a great lesson.”
The actress continued, “If it had happened today in our hyper social media world that we live today, I don’t know what I would’ve done. I mean in the sense if I didn’t have this clarity and I only know I am very clear about what I want to be known for. Of course it is nice if people talk about you, but it’s nice when they talk about your work and your art, and your skill. That’s what I want to be known for.”
Kritika went on to add, “And anything else that I put out from my end is open to scrutiny and reactions and that’s going to happen. And I stopped doing that because I learned this lesson very early on in my life. I was young and unabashed and I lived my life like an open book.”
The actress added that she received love and attention at that time. “But suddenly, you realise it’s a personal thing and so many people are participating, so many people have opinions and they want to say things and you’re not answerable to anybody. So that I learned very early on and since then I’ve been very particular about what part of my life do I want to put out on social media. I will only share what I’m comfortable getting feedback on. My personal life is not for anybody to give feedback on. When I have an announcement or something to share I will. But again, there are some things that are off limits and I learned that valuable lesson very early on,” said Kritika.
During the candid conversation, Kriti also spoke about dealing with the failure of her Bollywood debut film Mitron and last release Bheed.
