Actor Lakshya is currently basking in the success of his recently released movie, Kill. Well, we all know that Kill was not intended to be his debut project. Before this, he was supposed to feature in Dostana 2 and Bedhadak. The films got shelved after the announcement. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, Lakshya shares how he felt even Kill won’t be released after Dostana 2 and Bedhadak got shelved.

Lakshya recalls the phase when Dostana 2 and Bedhadak shelved

When asked how he dealt with the phase when his 2 films shekved, Lakshya says, “I explain that as a transition phase. I think on a personal level if you ask me, probably I wasn’t ready when Dostana came my way as it was a big responsibility to carry a film on your shoulder. Like I had Kartik and Janhvi in the film but somewhere I was feeling a bit scared. Definitely, I was grateful for that film, but I also felt what if things don’t pan out right then what will happen? But now I can say that it didn’t happen for the good as Kill happened.”

He also recalled, “Honestly, that phase was not easy. I had have left the TV and even stopped taking any calls from there. And at the juncture where I left TV, you won’t believe that they used to call me and say, this is the show, this is per day, that’s it. No story, no anything, this is it and this is the money per day. When I shared the details with my father, he insisted me to do it as they were offering good money. But I had taken a sabbatical from TV and Porus was such a show where I explored myself to the fullest. So I was adamant on giving things a chance since I was 20-21. I also took the challenge as I had enough wealth to survive.”

About Kill being originally titled Aaghat

The actor further shares how he started self-doubting. “But it was difficult when Dostana and Bedhadak didn’t pan out. Then while shooting kill also I felt that even this is not going to happen, just keep shooting. Because I had lost my faith that whatever I do won’t pan out. Mujhe aisa laga ki jo film mein karunga chalegi nahi. I started self-loathing. But it was simple for me that at this age, at the age of 19, where people go to college, go on vacations, go on trips, I am working here in Mumbai. I felt that there is some divine intervention that has happened in my life and got me here. Aur jaise hi mujhe Kill mili mai khud gaya iske upar aur tab iska naam Aaghat tha. Toh aisa tha ki iske andar jaan daaldo aur kaam aisa karo ki aapse behtar koi kaam na kar sake.”
