Lakshya about his angry young man role in the film KILL
When our host asked him about his role in the film KILL, Lakshya shared that he felt lighter rather than being affected by the violent nature of his character. He also mentioned that he was able to release a lot of pent-up anger. He said, “It’s not something that developed a year or two ago. This has been building up over time because we live in a society where we are told to suppress our emotions.”
He revealed that people have been reaching out to him after the release of KILL, saying that his performance has given them confidence. “Guys who were getting bullied in schools have been messaging me, saying, ‘Brother, after watching your film, we feel confident that we can also stand up for ourselves.’ It’s an entirely different feeling.”
Lakshya shares if he was ever bullied
“I don’t want to turn this into a very depressing, melodramatic interview. But I feel that, coming from that background, there were so many things that happened in my life, and as a family, we had to go through a lot. As a kid, I used to wonder why all this was happening to me, why it was happening to my family, and why I couldn’t do anything about it. I was too young to react and act on things. It kept growing, and growing, and I got deeply into weight-lifting and martial arts because I just wanted to vent out. I felt it was really important to let it out; otherwise, it would destroy me, the way it was troubling me so much.”
He also shared how he imagined people’s faces before performing his violent scenes.
