Ranneeti: Balakot and Beyond, is a web series that provides an insightful exploration of the events surrounding the Balakot airstrike and its aftermath. Through a compelling narrative, the series sheds light on the political decisions, military strategies, and diplomatic ramifications of the airstrike carried out by the Indian Air Force in response to the Pulwama terror attack. The series is directed by Santosh Singh. The cast includes Lara Dutta, Jimmy Shergill, Elnaaz Norouzi, Ashutosh Rana, Prasanna and Ashish Vidyarthi.
The series was released on the 25th of April and it has been liked by many.
Lara Dutta shares her views on female characters; future projects and more
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the cast of Ranneeti shared their experiences and insights into the series. Lara Dutta, when asked if roles for women today are better than before, firmly stated, “Undoubtedly, for sure.” Discussing the impact of OTT platforms changing narratives on female actors, she emphasised, “Of course. I think one of the best things post-OTT for female actors is that we’re finally playing our age, representing ourselves on screen. You’re not unnecessarily forced to play a younger character, and I love that today, every age group of women is represented on screen. It’s good.”
Regarding her approach to ensemble casts, Lara asserted, “I’ve never been apprehensive about working in ensemble casts. If you look at my career, most of them are ensemble pieces.”
When asked about her excitement for upcoming projects like ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and ‘Ramayana’, she said, “I am excited for all of them. If I’ve picked them, I’m excited for everything that’s coming.” Lara Dutta’s insights shed light on the evolving landscape of female representation in cinema and her eagerness for diverse roles.
