Madhoo Shah on high entourage cost
Shah said, “Well, I’m not in that bracket. I just have a small demand for a van to rest in during shoots, and whatever the remuneration is. The things that are being discussed, I think they are by those actors who pull the crowd, whose names drive the box office, whose movies become hits or sell out just by the announcement of their names.”
She continued, “Whatever their demands are these days… I don’t really understand talks about money, I barely manage to run my household; I have that much understanding of accountability. But the talks about crores and crores of rupees, I don’t even know what crores are. This economic talk… The same producers who sometimes my staff tells me, ‘Madam, yesterday’s shoot payment hasn’t been cleared’, which is, you know, 1/10, 1/10 of their big budget. And on the other hand, you read in the paper that a 100-crore film is being made, and you see in the paper that some actor took such a huge amount of money. So I wonder, ‘Why aren’t you paying them? Or why aren’t you paying me? Why isn’t my check clearing?’ “
“This is something I don’t quite understand. The people who talk, those actors, and I’m in the same film, and my staff is also in the same film. The problem that happens with my staff and the one that happens with that actor, all of this is within the same film, so sometimes I don’t understand,” she concluded.
The actress also opened up on her working experience with Ajay Devgn and drew comparison within South film industry and Bollywoo industry.
