Manoj Bajpayee made his feature film debut with a one-minute role in Drohkaal. Later, we went on to appear in films like Satya, Kaun?, and Shool among others. With hard work and talent, he has successfully carved a niche for himself in the industry. However, it wasn’t an easy ride for him. He has had his share of ups and downs. Speaking of that, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Manoj looked back on his bad days. He revealed how Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti brought him out from his ‘bad time’ in career.
Manoj Bajpayee recalls his initial career days…
When asked if he craved for box office successes during the initial days of his career, he said, “Yes I wanted it so that I could be empowered to do things my way. But it was not happening. It happened with Shool and Satya but afterwards it started going away from me.”
The actor added, “I hit a bad time but somewhere I knew that yes it’s a bad time and it is getting prolonged but there was also one assurance that I know my job. I just need that one role to get me back to where I was and Raajneeti gave me that opportunity.” The Prakash Jha directorial Raajneeti released in 2010 and did well at the box office.

Given that today there are many platforms that give opportunities to actors, Manoj stated that it’s much easier to deal with bad times as compared to before. “It used to be very hard. Now you have more avenues, there are so many OTT platforms including YouTube etc. So It was difficult. It was very hard. It was very difficult to pass,” said Manoj before adding that things are easier now.
