Meezaan speaks up about witnessing Alia Bhatt win a National Award
There’s absolutely no denying the fact that Alia Bhatt in Gangubai Kathiawadi was an absolute delight. Speaking about Alia Bhatt winning a National Award for Gangubai Kathiawadi, Meezaan says, “When I first saw her perform as Gangu, you already know that she has hit it out of the park. She’s fully into her character, she is looking at the path, and she has transformed her voice, with the way she has delivered her dialogues. Because her voice is not like that. Her body language and the way she sits, it’s the attitude that also Sanjay sir brings out in the actor. You just know ye hone wala hai (this will happen).”
He also said, “So, somewhere on the set, we preempted that she is going to be getting all the awards and she is going to be taking it away, which she does with every performance of hers. But, apart from that, I think it was a great opportunity to see how she works. When I assisted before, I saw Ranveer sir, Deepika ma’am, and Shahid sir the way they perform and their way of working. So, I saw Ajay sir and Alia Bhatt on this film. That was a wonderful experience to see and they listening to Sanjay sir and taking his directions and implementing that in their performance.”
