EXCLUSIVE: Nawazuddin Siddiqui on Afwaah’s failure

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most revered actors of Bollywood and people know him for quality content. The actor has done few of the celebrated movies like Talaash, Gangs of Wasseypur, Badlapur etc and he has absolutely nailed his performance in all of them. His last release, Afwaah did not do well at the box office. Meanwhile Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s upcoming movie Jogira Sara Ra Ra is all set to enter with a bang. In light of that, we sat for an exclusive interview with Nawazuddin.

The actor on failure of Afwaah…

As the interview got candid, the actor opened up about his movie Afwaah not doing well at the box office. When the host asked him to comment upon that, the Gangs of Wasseypur actor spoke his heart out. He said, “I am not talking about Afwaah. Jab makers film banate hai aur release karte hai to usko courage ke sath release karo na. Ab bohot sare call aa rahe hai mere pass ki kaha pe release hai. Ab  mein kya batau unko ki kaha release hai. Film industry ke khaas log bhi mujhe puch rahe hai ki kaha release hai. Ab mein bata nahi paa raha hu ki kaha release hai.”

The actor further said that at times like these, people generally blame the actor rather than blaming anyone else. Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, “Ab kya hota hai ki collection hota hai uska phir. Aur phir bata diya jayega ki Nawaz ki picture hai….Itna collection hua hai aur Nawaz flop actor hai. Toh yaar isse app direct OTT pe release kardo. Yaa phir kyu bana rahe ho? Kya hota hai ki sab actor pe pad jata hai.”

Later in the conversation, Nawaz spoke about how brilliantly South industry handles problems like these. He added that if such things happen in South industry, they take time off. They wait for a few months, analyze the problem, and understand the root cause of it. And then they can see the results. 

Well, apart from comments on his latest release Afwaah, the actor spoke about numerous other things. The Babumoshai Bandookbaaz actor also opened up about his struggles of being an actor and commented upon controversy with his ex-wife Aaliya.
