EXCLUSIVE: Nawazuddin Siddiqui opens up about being insecure about his looks: For a long time I thought I wasn’t good looking

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the most talented actors in Bollywood. However, there was a time when he was judged for his looks and Nawzuddin felt insecure about it. However, he gained confidence when he came into the industry and realised that he looked decent. During a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble show Body Faming, Nawaz said that he had been insecure for many years.

He was asked when he got the confidence. Nawaz said, “Jab main bahar gaya tab aaya tha confidence.” Nawazuddin then continued, “Hamare jaise log ke look kahi normal hote hai kahi khoobsurat hote hai, wo perception ki baat hai. Main jab bahar gaya pata chala ki main theek thak hu. Jis time tak uss complexity me raha mein ki I’m not a good looking guy. Toh ye raha kafi saalon tak raha. Tab bahar gaye toh pata chala ki theek thak hai mera face.“

Nawazuddin Siddiqui on unconventional hero tag

When asked how he tackled the tag of being an unconventional hero. The Haddi actor said, “Tab ye tag laga hua tha ‘uncoventional’ tabhi logon ke dimaag me jo actor ya hero ki image thi wo bohot hi alag thi. Tab aaye tho bohot dikkaton ka samna karna padha. I think ussi mein 10-12 saal lag gaye crack karne mein ki hum actor hai, lekin wo cheez kabhi jaati nahi hai aur kabhi jaayegi bhi nahi kyuki logon ke dimaag kyuki ek certain image hoti hai. But wahi struggle hai aur hamesha rahega aur wo khushi ki baat bhi hai ki ye jo norms bane huye the, unko crack karne mein time lag raha hai aur abhi lag raha hai. Life me ek struggle rehna zaroori hota hai aur usse fight karne me maza aata hai, wo ek happiness bhi hai, bohot hi chhote level pe hai but kar rahe hai. Hum bhi apna struggle kar rahe hai.“
