EXCLUSIVE: Nawazuddin Siddiqui recalls people being shocked that he worked with Aamir Khan in Sarfarosh; says, “I had to convince them”

Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of the finest actors in Bollywood. However, he didn’t garner fame overnight. Even he had to go through several rejections and hardships to become the leading actor in Bollywood. Starting from doing small roles to doing lead roles, Nawazuddin has come a long way now. But there was a time when Nawazuddin Siddiqui had to convince people that he had worked with Aamir Khan in Sarfarosh. During a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble, Nawaz recalled how casting people were shocked to know that he worked with Aamir during his audition days.

The Sacred Games actor exclusively told us, “Film ke baad logon ne film dekhi toh laga ki ye actual criminal hai kisi chor ko pakad ke le aagaye the. Jab koi production house mein jaata tha, toh puchte the ki, ‘Kya kaam kiya hai?’ Toh main bolta tha ‘Sarfarosh mein kaam kiya tha.’ Toh bolte the, ‘Sarfosh kiya tha? Par wo bohot hit hogayi thi. Sarfarosh mein kya kaam kiya tha?’ Fir maine kaha, ‘Ki wo do log the na jiske sir pe goli lagta hai.’ Toh wo bole, ‘Acha wo tu tha?’” After admitting that he was the same guy, the person was shocked as he thought the makers had some random person for the scene.

Nawaz then revealed that he had to make them believe that he was the guy in the movie. He then added that after Sarfarosh he got small roles in movies like Shool, Jungle and others but never bagged a big-budget movie.
