Actors are often being judged for their looks or their statements and many more. They are always under scrutiny no matter what they do. Among many, even Neena Gupta faced judgements during the initial days of her career. Talking about the same, in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Neena Gupta candidly spoke about being negatively judged by society. She also talked about facing the challenges of being a single mother, and raising her daughter Masaba Gupta while working full-time.
Neena Gupta on being judged by people
When asked if the judgements of people were less back in the day compared to today’s generation. The Badhaai Ho actor said, “No no, it was more back then. The judgements back then were a lot more compared to today’s time. I have faced those challenges and I have been judged like that in every way and in a negative way and I have seen that and suffered it. But the judgements are quite less in today’s time. I feel the self-confidence of the younger generation is quite commendable. I have worked with so many youngsters and become friends regardless of what characters we play onscreen.“
Neena Gupta on being a single mother
Talking about the struggles of being a single mother, she said, “I had to earn and had very little time. My dad was living with me and Masaba. I used to work for 12-14 hours as I used to do Television. I used to come home feeling tired and had no strength. And then Masaba tried to pull me for playing and my father used to tell me about problems. It was a big struggle for me and I was doing two people’s jobs.“
