EXCLUSIVE: OMG 2 actors Yami Gautam and Pankaj Tripathi REACT to Box Office clash with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2

August is going to be a fun-filled month for Bollywood buffs, as we have two films coming up on the same day. Yes, on the same day! Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 and Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 are all set to hit theaters tomorrow, on the 11th. The two massive films have skyrocketed excitement for all.

Well, the pivotal stars from OMG 2, including Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, took some time off from their busy schedules and sat with us for an exclusive interview. The two got candid during the conversation and expressed their opinions over Gadar 2 clash with OMG 2. 

Yami Gautam opens about the box-office clash between OMG 2 and Gadar 2

Speaking about the films’ clash and investment made by film producers, Yami Gautam said, “Hum toh actors hai, so we want ke saare producers, unka investment hai, unke resources hai, paisa, itna kuch hai at stake, they all should make money. Clashes avoid karna, nai karna, as I said we are only actors, woh humare hath me nahi hai. It must be due to some reason, dates, bahot saari cheeze involved hoti hai. But, we wish dono filme bahot acha kare.” (We are actors, so we want everybody to make money, including the producers who have invested money in it. Clashes happening and not happening are not in our hands. There is a lot of things involved for clashes to happen, dates are one of them. But, we wish both films do well.)

Further, Yami Gautam said, “Kal humari screening thi aur waha par naa ek handpump tha, which was part of the Gadar 2 campaign (We had a screening yesterday and there was a handpump which was a part of Gadar 2 campaign), I have taken pictures with that and I’m going to wish the team luck”

In the interview, Pankaj Tripathi shared a fun incident he came across. When Pankaj arrived at the film’s screening, it so happened that the actor missed the name of Gadar 2 on the poster as a car stood in front of it and the name of the film stood hidden. So, when he entered, he thought that Sunny Deol was sitting there. He stated that the photo seemed quite real. With this assumption, the actor said ‘Namaste’ to him and came across the film’s name just as he took two steps ahead. Then, he realized that he had said namaste to Gadar’s poster. That was surely fun!

Speaking about OMG 2, the film is headlined by Akshay Kumar. It features Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in pivotal roles. The film has surely generated the correct hype among the netizens. The theme addressed in the film is captivating and interesting. 

About Gadar 2, Sunny Deol headlines the film. Gadar 2 also stars Ameesha Patel in the lead. The film is directed by Anil Sharma and will hit theaters tomorrow.
