EXCLUSIVE: Pooja Bhatt opens up on her and Alia Bhatt getting criticized for their ‘privilege’

Pooja Bhatt was one of the finalists of Bigg Boss OTT 2. She was the first finalist to get evicted from the Salman Khan-hosted reality show last night. The actress made headlines for multiple reasons including her close bond with Bebika Dhurve and fights with Palak Purswani and Jiya Shankar. After the grand finale was over, Pooja opened up about her Bigg Boss OTT 2 journey, being privileged and a lot more.

Pooja Bhatt talks about ‘privilege’

In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Pooja opened up about how she and sister Alia Bhatt often face backlash because they come from a filmy family. When asked about being criticized for her ‘privileged background’, Pooja said, “I am prepared to hear anything. I think ki log joh hai unko apni opinions aur unki rai Mubarak. Aur mein yehi manti hu ki aap duniya ko waise hi nazro se hi dekhte hai jaise aap hote hai. Aap ek situation ko, kisi ke touch ko waise hi samjhenge jaise aapka jehen aur dimaag hai. (I think people should keep their opinions and suggestions to themselves. I also believe that you look at the world in the same way that you are. You will understand a situation or a touch someone in a way you believe about it).”

She added, “Manisha (Rani) joh hai maine unko kaha bhi ki aap bohot hi actually conventional aur traditional ladki hai joh ye nautanki karti hai of flirting. And being traditional and being simple is not a bad thing. And about people what they are saying, I think even if it’s Alia Bhatt or me, shayad jabhi aap ek film family se aate hai, aapke liye darwaza khulega, magar aapko entry tab milegi jabhi aapke andar kuch baat hai. (I have told Manisha that she is a conventional and a traditional girl, with the way she flirts and acts. And about what the people are saying, I think, whether it’s Alia or when you come from a film background, the doors will open for you too but you will get a chance to enter only when you are worth it).”

For the unvitiated, Pooja Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and Kiran Bhatt. On the other hand, Alia is Mahesh’s daughter from his second wife Soni Razdan. Today, Alia is one of the top actresses in Bollywood.

Coming back to Pooja, her Bigg Boss journey was full of ups and downs. She didn’t win the reality show, but she won many hearts. Elvish Yadav emerged as the winner of this season’s Bigg Boss. The other contestants who made it to Top 5 were Manisha Rani, Abhishek Malhan, and Bebika Dhurve.
