EXCLUSIVE: Pragya Jaiswal recalls Salman Khan saying “I’ll make sure you still do good in this industry” after their scenes were cut from Antim

Did you know, Khel Khel Mein actress Pragya Jaiswal worked with Salman Khan before sharing screenspace with Akshay Kumar in Bollywood? During an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, the actress – who predominantly works in Telugu films, got candid about shooting two songs with Salman for Antim.

During the same chat, the actress also opened up about why the sequences were ultimately axed from the film and the promise Salman made to her after that. Read on to know all she shared.

Pragya Jaiswal on Antim scenes being cancelled

While talking about Antim and her scenes being deleted from the Salman Khan-Aayush Sharma action flick, Pragya Jaiswal said, “I shot for Antim. I shot for my character in the film; we did two songs.” Stating that the film was a remake of a Marathi film, the actress added, “The original film didn’t have my character. There was no female lead opposite the cop character played by Salman Khan. When Salman sir joined the film, there was a pressure – I think, to have a heroine. “

She continued, “Because if Salman sir is in the film, there needs to be a full track for him as well. There needs to be his story, his love interest, songs and all of that. But eventually, when all the top-level people saw the film, they realised that this aspect was going away from their original idea. So they decided for the best interest of the film – and me (to delete the parts). Because if that track won’t work for the film, then it may not help the film or me as an actor.”

Pragya: I am very happy I worked with Salman

She continued, “I worked with Salman sir, I am very happy. I did a song (with him) for the world to see so I am very happy. I’m grateful for the experience because there are certain things in your hands and there are certain things that are not in your hands. So why worry about the things you can’t change? Just be grateful you got to experience that. In my very first Hindi venture, I worked with the biggest star in this country – I’m happy. There is a song for the world to see and that’s enough. Maybe I was meant to do one song with Salman sir.“

Praising Salman Khan, Pragya Jaiswal added, “He was so sweet, so positive and so supportive about the decision. He was so supportive towards me that he said, ‘Pragya, we will make sure you have the best debut. If it’s not with me, I will make sure you still do good in this industry and we are there to support you.”

Adding that she’s giving the interview stilling in Saman’s agency’s office, she said, “So he’s there as this person who has your back. If he’s taken you under his wing, he is like, ‘Theek hai beta, this is your journey now. If it’s not to start with me, it will start with somebody else in another project, but I’m here.’ So what can I ask for more than this?”
