Actor Prosenjit Chatterjee who predominantly works in Bengali cinema has been working in the industry for over 40 years. During the course, he delivered several hits and not only became a superstar but an emotion for many. But did you know he didn’t work for almost 2.5 years? During an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Prosenjit revealed he had to take a long break after his first breakup.
Prosenjit Chatterjee on taking 2.5 years of break
When asked if he felt like taking a break from the industry after working for many decades. He said, “I think I have written in my autobiography. I didn’t work for around 2-2.5 years, I’m talking about my first breakup. I couldn’t because I have to be honest in front of the camera. So that time, I was too young like my heart is broken and not coming out. I was not even 20-21 years old. But for 2-2.5 years I didn’t come down even from my lift. But then life teaches you a lot of things, then we also understood with our age and maturity.” adding the industry has taught him to be strong over the four decades. “Yeah, but I think that was the longest time where I completely agree that I didn’t work because I was broken,” he continued.

During the same interview, he also spoke about the rise of Bengali cinema in the pan-India section and the effect of Kantara. Moreover, he spoke about doing a masala entertainer in Bollywood as well.
Not just in Bengali cinema, Prosenjit Chatterjee has also worked in several Hindi movies as well. He was last seen in series Jubilee and he garnered immense love and appreciation for the role. Earlier, in an interview with us, Prosenjit had revealed he was offered the Sooraj Barjatya directorial Maine Pyar Kiya. However, he rejected the part of Salman Khan starrer. When asked him about the same, the Shanghai actor said, “Leave it. Forget it. Let’s talk about Jubilee.” Prosenjit Chatterjee was last seen in movie Shanghai.
