EXCLUSIVE: Raghav Juyal recalls being ‘teary-eyed’ after Guneet Monga heaped praises on him after his KILL audition

Raghav Juyal kickstarted his career with the dance reality show, Dance India Dance and became popular for the ‘slow motion lyrical dubstep’ dance form. He later appeared in Remo D’Souza’s ABCD. The dancer later appeared as a host on several reality shows. And now, he is carving a niche for himself as a versatile actor. After debuting with Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Raghav featured in Karan Johar and Guneet Monga produced Kill. His performance in the film has sparked conversations and garnered extensive admiration.

For those unversed, KILL debuted at the prestigious TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival). In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Raghav opened up about receiving adulation for his effortless portrayal of menacing Joker. He also shared how Guneet Monga’s response left him teary-eyed.

Raghav Juyal on KILL receiving overwhelming response

KILL received a roaring response at TIFF. Talking about how he felt looking at the response, the dancer-actor shared, “It was really overwhelming for me. They didn’t even give me time to soak in the feeling. It was my first time at such a prestigious film festival, walking the red carpet and then becoming first runner up there. Even the film was talk of the town. Seeing all the foreigners watch your film, hooting and then receiving a standing ovation, it was like a dream come true for me.”

Raghav Juyal shares how he was teary-eyed after Guneet Monga praised him

KILL has the powerful backing of Dharma Production and producer Karan Johar and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment. When we asked Raghav whether he had to audition for the movie, he said, “I do audition and I did it for this film too. Also, I feel you get good projects by giving auditions. I still remember Guneet saying something.”

He later showed a video where Guneet Monga heaps praise on him. In the video, Guneet was heard saying, “With Raghav, his auditions were outstanding. I mean he killed it in the audition. We tested hundreds of people and Raghav stood out to us and we had this conversation and I called Karan and said, ‘We love him for our antagonist’. This is a role of a joker you know so this is unpredictable. He kind of has to bring comedy into his menacing looks and he does it so effortlessly like he makes it look too easy.”

Reacting to it, Raghav exclaimed, “When Guneet says this to me, I think I had tears in my eyes because it’s too big of an achievement for me and I’m proud of myself.”
