EXCLUSIVE: Rajkummar Rao feels ‘orgasmic’ after playing a visually impaired person in Sri

Rajkummar Rao is one of the most talented and versatile actors in Indian cinema. He has given award-winning performances in movies like Shahid, Aligarh Trapped and more. Rajkummar Rao’s recent release Bheed hits cinemas on March 24. Recently the actor sat down for an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble. He also spoke about his next Sri, a biopic on a visually impaired industrialist.

Rajkummar Rao on biopic Sri

Speaking about playing a visually impaired person in Sri, Rajkummar Rao said, “It is absolutely very challenging but had a great time. I think I’m playing this visually impaired boy and it’s a true story a biopic on visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. I had a great time playing that part you know. It’s not easy to play a blind person onscreen. I wanted to do something different you know something which has maybe not been seen before.“

He further added, “Because I spent a lot of time with real-life visually impaired people. I went to a lot of like blind schools and spent enough time with them. Oh well, I learned a lot from them and how brave they are, you know. For them this is not something, this is not a disability for them, They live the life they want to. That’s why Sri’s story is so important. A boy from a very poor family in a village uh in Andhra Pradesh at that time and today he became this billionaire. It’s so inspiring and I it’s, I say this enough but it was very orgasmic for me to just play this man. You know by orgasmic I mean the creative satisfaction that I got from Sri which is unreal for me.”

For the unversed, Rajkummar Rao Sri is a biopic based on the visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla. He founded Bollant Industries. It is backed by Bhushan Kumar and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani. The movie is directed by Tushar Hiranandani. It also features Alaya F, Jyothika and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. Sri is set to release on September 15.
