Actor Raveena Tandon broke all the stereotypes when she embraced motherhood when she adopted two kids during the peak of her career. Raveena became a single mother when she was 21 years old as she adopted two daughters Pooja and Chhaya in 1995. Speaking about the same in an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Raveena Tandon said adopting kids was not legally allowed for single mothers back then.
Raveena Tandon on adoption:
The Mohra actor told us, “Well, at that time adoption was not even allowed. A single mother’s adoption was not legally allowed so I became my children’s Guardian. I had both the girls with me and the only option way out at that time was to take legal Guardianship, which I did. I’m very grateful because I think I find more than anything else I find these my achievements when I see my girls. My sense of achievement is basically what I see when people ask me ‘okay what do you think are your achievements,’ I think it’s a complete sense of gratification.”
Raveena Tandon further revealed about adopting kids, “I feel when I see my two girls grow up successful in their lives in their careers in their marriages with their children, I feel a sense of pride.”
Raveena Tandon who is married to Anil Thadani became a biological mother after she welcomed kids – Rasha Thadani and Ranbir Thadani. For the unversed, Rasha will be making her Bollywood debut with filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor who previously helmed Kedarnath.
In our interview, Raveena spoke about nepotism as she said, “Audience is king. The audience will tell you whether you are worth being here or not. Plain and simple, so that is how it works. Otherwise, a lot of our other filmy kids, whom I don’t want to name, would have been superstars today. Unfortunately, that’s not the case because they have to go through much more pressure. They have to live up to a certain expectation also. It’s in fact even more tougher for them.”
