EXCLUSIVE: Richa Chadha on dealing with insecurity in Bollywood: Sometimes my girlfriends and I audition for the same role

Fukrey 3 is one of the highly anticipated franchises of the year. The film stars Pulkit Samrat, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Richa Chadha, and Pankaj Tripathi in pivotal roles. Fukrey 3 was released theatrically on 28 September 2023. The cast of the Fukrey 3 share a great bond and that’s quite palpable when we see the BTS videos and their on-screen camaraderie. Bude, despite sharing great friendships, the competition in this industry can lead to insecurity. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Richa Chadha shared her thoughts on insecurity in Bollywood.

During the conversation, we asked the Fukrey 3 cast whether they felt insecure and did it took a toll while working together. Talking about it, Richa Chadha said, “Because we are outsiders, we have all auditioned for the same thing sometimes. I have been in contention for the same role with some of my girlfriends. Agar ache hi actor ko mil jata hai then I don’t mind. Utna dariya dil aap me hona chahiye. I feel like chote dil ke insaan ki yahi pehcaan hoti hai ki wo dusre ke success me khushi na le paye. Wo ek culture hume bhi change karna chahiye (If a good actor gets the role then I don’t mind. One should be that generous. I feel that one who is insecure about other’s success is a sign that he or she is a small-hearted person. We need to change that culture).”

She further added, “Kabhi kabhi hum media ki bhi toxicity ko bhi sawal karte hai when they do this like who wore it best. Its very tacky now and done and dusted (We even question the media’s toxicity at such times when they write comparison stuff like who wore it better).”

Pulkit Samrat added, “We are genuinely each other’s strength more than thinking ki hum insecure hai kisi se ya hum ek dusre ke saamne aa rahe hai, kisko jyada footage mil rahi hai kisko nahi. There’s nothing like that. Hum literally ek dusre ko apni lines dedete hai (We are each other’s strength rather than thinking that we are insecure or who is getting more footage. In fact we give our lines to each other when were are not able to crack it in a better way).”
