Rohit Shetty is well-known not just as a film director but also as a host for his reality show Khatron Ke Khiladi. From 15 July this month, the director came up with a fresh new season 13 of his show. With strong contestants and even a stronger host, the show is all up inspiring and exciting to watch.
But, while the audience gets to witness a ‘perfect’ shoot of the show, there are lot many aspects that go beyond to shoot the show. From getting contestants all prepped up, to facing the weather conditions and many more, Rohit Shetty has opened up about the same.
Rohit Shetty opens up about details in executing Khatron Ke Khiladi
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the director has opened about the nitty-gritties that goes into making the show a perfect watch for the viewers.
When asked how does he bring everything together, from the contestants to building their confidence, Rohit says, “With me it goes well, because that’s my profession, I have been doing that. I have been a stunt man. I know the technique of how to pull it off. That gives me the confidence. Because if you tell me tomorrow to judge a dance show, I’ll be the most worst judge on a dance show because as a director mai aapko guide kar sakta hu ya bata sakta hu ke kya acha lag raha hai ya bura lag raha hai (As a director I can guide you and tell you if something is looking good or bad). But mai technique nahi bata sakta. Mujhe aata nahi hai (But I can’t show you the technique. I don’t know about that). I am a worst dancer. Same goes with a singing show, Mai kya aapko technique bataounga kyu ki mai khud trained nahi hu (I can’t show the technique because I myself don’t know about it). But when it comes to action, that’s been my profession. And I think wo audience ka bhi aur contestants ka bhi ek confidence hota hai, keeping my past in mind (I think it’s the confidence of the audience and the contestants too). Because they know that he’s from the action department, so he can pull it off. ”
Speaking of the details, he said, “We know the technique how to do it. And the prep, how much time it takes, the weather conditions, the team, how to guide them. So, I think pehla toh mera confidence that ‘It can be done’ (my confidence that it can be done), because we start six months in advance, on-set also kaun kar sakta hai kaun nahi kar sakta hai is also one thing (To know who can perform the stunt and who cannot is also one thing). Second thing, most importantly knowing the technique how to pull it off. That is the reason I can guide them. And you can’t cheat the audience. But as I said, if I do a dance reality show, they will say ke aata hai kya isko?…but here, they know ke isko ye kaam aata hai (If I do a dance reality show, the audience will ask if I know anything about it or not, but in case of stunts and action, they know that I know the job well). If he is saying it, he is right. So I think that is the reason behind it. Knowing that I can do it. “
The director further spoke about working with Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. He also spoke about stunt-men gaining attention due to awareness nowadays.
