Sagarika Ghatge regrets film shelved with Sabyasachi connection
Speaking of her only regret in life, Sagarika Ghatge said, “I don’t regret anything—except for one film that I shot, which never got released. I regret that. I wish that film had at least come out in some way. So, we shot a lot for it. It was directed by JP Dutta, and it was my second film, right after Chak De! India. It was a period film, and Sabyasachi designed our costumes. It was set in 1920 and 2009 or 2010—something like that.”
She added, “It was a big film, and that’s the only regret I have—I wish it had been released. It ended up being this incomplete, unfinished project, even though we had finished most of it. I don’t know where we stand with it now. I don’t know what happened to it. But we shot a lot—we filmed in Rajasthan for a month, then in St. Moritz, and also in Kolkata because it was about polo.”
Concluding the actress said, “It was a beautifully shot film, but I don’t know… And again, at that time, I was too young to question things. So yeah, sometimes when I think back, I wonder about it. But at the same time, it’s not something I feel deeply regretful about. I just feel like it could have been something—if only it had been released.”
