Actor Salman Khan shares a close bond with his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan. And, on several occasions, the father-son duo has been clicked together. On Arbaaz Khan’s talk show The Invincibles, exclusively on Bollywood Bubble, Salim Khan spoke about his fears and reservations when his eldest son, superstar Salman Khan told him he wants to be an actor.
Salim Khan had reservations about Salman Khan wanting to be an actor
Arbaaz Khan asked his father about what fears and reservations he had when Salman wanted to be an actor. Reacting to the same, the veteran screenwriter revealed the reason behind his reservations about the Tiger 3 actor wanting to be a hero in the movies. He also said that he knew ‘100 percent’ that Salman had qualities of being a star.
Answering the question, Salim Khan told Arbaaz, “Wo chahta tha mein ki education complete karke apni fir aaye. College mein roz roz jaana hai, ladko se milna, itna baat karna, itne logo ke saath ghulna, wo itself is an education. (I wanted him to complete his education first. Going to college everyday, meeting other boys, talking to them, spending time with then, that itself is an education.)“
He added, “When I saw his first film, toh mujhe ye laga ki iske andar star qualities hai, 100 percent. (When I saw his first film, I knew that he has the qualities of being a star, 100 percent.).”
Speaking about Salman further, the veteran screenwriter continued, “He has got all the potential. Toh mujhe ye laga ye 100 percent ban jayega star. Aur agar isko koi nuksaan bhi pohacha sakta hai toh ye khud hi. (I thought that 100 percent he (Salman) will become a star. But, I knew that no one but only he can destory himself).”
