Sanjeeda on females facing judgement in society
When asked about societal judgement faced by women akin to her character Waheeda in ‘Heeramandi,’ Sanjeeda said, “I think we’ve seen the change, definitely. I personally felt that it starts with your family. I have been extremely fortunate. I have a family that have given me the agency in my life to take my own decisions. They have given me the authority to speak my mind. I think we heading towards a change where everyone is okay with us (women) having an opinion on anything. And, we have such great men in the industry or otherwise. We are surrounded by great men who want women to do good. All about women’s empowerment, I am not a ‘pro-woman’ or I am not somebody who is into male bashing at all. I just feel that we all stay in the society that we should be given the liberty to speak our mind.”
Sanjeeda also shared her preference for privacy regarding her personal life, confiding in a select circle of close confidants. She credited her mother as her pillar of strength during her challenging divorce from Aamir Ali, acknowledging her sacrifices and resilience. The actress also candidly discussed experiencing ‘mom guilt’ while balancing work commitments. She expressed gratitude for the opportunity to have her daughter nearby during her shoots for ‘Heeramandi’ and ‘Fighter’ in Mumbai.
