EXCLUSIVE: Shreyas Talpade gives a MAJOR UPDATE on Ajay Devgn co-starrer Golmaal 5

It has been around 3 years since Rohit Shetty made the announcement of Golmaal 5 with Ajay Devgn. The franchise has been one of the most successful Bollywood series. Since then, the audience has been waiting for some development on the same. And in a recent conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Shreyas Talpade gave us a major hint about it.

When asked what is happening on the front of Golmaal FIVE, Shreyas informed that even he is waiting for an update. He said, “Even we are waiting for that development. Honestly, our captain Rohit is the one who will decide when he wants to go on floors with Golmaal 5. Yes, I think he has plans. And like he mentioned in a couple of his interviews, that till the time he’s doing films, he would like to keep making Golmaal. So, we would also love to keep doing Golmaal as long as we can.”

He added, “But whenever it happens, I’m sure that it’s going to be one more fun ride for everyone. It’s been 7 years now, I hope it happens next year because there was a gap of 7 years between the third and the fourth part. It’s already been 7 years, now I think it’s time that we do our next one.”

On Rohit’s comedy universe…

The director introduced the first hint for Golmaal 5 in the credits of his last release Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh. Rohit Shetty teased his own comedy universe with Cirkus and Golmaal. If conspiracy theories are to be believed, even Chennai Express might make a part of it. When pointed about it, Shreyas gave a juicy tease as well. He said, “Golmaal has probably a universe of its own. So, we wouldn’t be surprised if there is Simba also and Joy (Ranveer) and Roy (Varun Sharma) from Cirkus also joining into the Golmaal series. That will be great fun.”

Golmaal franchise has had 4 films till now. Ajay Devgn, Shreyas, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu are the central gang of the series. As for Rohit, he is currently working on Singham Again with Ajay. A part of his cop universe, the film also brings together ‘Simmba’ Ranveer Singh and ‘Sooryavanshi’ Akshay Kumar. There are many new additions and old returns too including Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff and Kareena Kapoor. Singham Again has a release date of Independence Day 2024.
