EXCLUSIVE: Sumbul Touqeer defends her father’s remarks towards Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta on Bigg Boss 16: What he did was right

After Imlie, Sumbul Touqeer participated in the reality show Bigg Boss 16. While she was a part of the show, her equation with Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta grabbed attention. She also confessed her feelings towards Shalin, but he was in love with Tina Datta. Their equation took an ugly turn after Sumbul Touqeer’s father Touqeer Khan used harsh language towards Shalin-Tina when he came for an episode. Not only this, he even connected with Sumbul over a call and said, “Shalin Aur Tina ko unki aukaat dikha doh (Show Shalin and Tina their status).” Sumbul’s father faced the wrath of the audience after this comment. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actress opens up about why she thinks her father was right.

During the exclusive chat, we asked Sumbul whether her father’s reaction against Shalin and Tina went against her. Talking about which the actress insisted, “After coming out of the house, what mattered to me the most was how my father and sister felt about me. I don’t care about anything else. Agar kisi aur ke bhi father hote, aur unki bacchi ko aise bola jata tv pe shayad wo insaan kuch aur bhi kar sakta tha. Ek single parent jo raha apne bacho ki Chattan banke khada raha hai, agar us bache ko koi kuch bolega toh parent kyu kuch nahi karega. Mere hisab se whatever my father did was right (If it would have been anyone else’s father, and such comments were passed on his daughter on TV, he would have gone to any lengths to protect her. A father who has stood strong in front of his daughters, if anyone says anything to his daughters then why won’t a parent react).”

She further stated, “When people see us, they don’t know anything about our journey. They are not aware of how we have lived and what problems we have faced. So, people misjudge a lot of times which is completely normal. Now I really don’t care and I have moved on.”

Sumbul Touqeer on being called weak during Bigg Boss 16

The Imlie actress also shared what were her thoughts when peopled tagged her as weak contestant during Bigg Boss 16. She shared, “Just because I used to cry people use to call me weak. I feel that was complete nonsense. Mere hisab jo insaan apne emotions ko duniya ke saamne rakhne ki himmat rakhta hai, use strong koi nahi hai. (According to me, a person is strong if they have the courage to show their emotion to the world).”
