Tina Datta entered the entertainment industry at a very young age. The actress became a household name with her show Uttaran. And 26 years after being in the industry, she chose to enter the reality show Bigg Boss 16. Tina Datta had a tumultuous journey in the Bigg Boss house, especially when it came to her equation with Shalin Bhanot.
A romance seemed to have started blooming between the two initially, but soon things turned ugly. The two did not end the show on a good note with each other. Tina was also subjected to blames about targeting Shalin, especially in the episode where Farah Khan came. The actress was accused to have character assassinated Shalin. The incident even led Tina to have a break down. Now, in the latest episode of Bollywood Bubble podcast Let’s Talk, the actress opened up on the incident.
Tina Datta on the blame of targeting Shalin Bhanot
When asked if that incident and those blames of planning the love angle with Shalin hurt her image, Tina answered in the negative. She said, “I don’t think so because I had already built a career. I’ve already built an image over the past few years. I’m in this industry since 26 years and then in the 26th year, I went for Big Boss. So, 26 saal se maine jo pyaar kamaya hai, maine jo izzat kamaya hai, maine jo rishte kamaye hain apne fans ke saath, wo kabhi to kaam aayega na. (In these 26 years, the love, respect and bond that I have built with my fans, they will come in play some time).”
Tina on her feelings for Farah
She insisted that the incident actually backfired on the makers and Farah. But she holds nothing against the choreographer-filmmaker. Tina added, “Actually it did backfire on the makers and on Farah also to some extent. People started trolling her (Farah) that you did not even let her (Tina) speak. I have nothing against her. I’ve always respected her with all my heart and I’ve always looked up to her. But log kuch to jaante hain mere baare mein. Wo pyaar kabhi to kaam aayega. (But people know me. So, that love would come in play some time).”
Tina went on to assert that none of what was said on the show actually affected her career. She insisted, “I wouldn’t say that it did affect my career or it did affect my image. No, nothing at all. Immediately in like 15 days time, I was doing Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum on Sony. So mera kuch bhi nahi gaya. (So, I did not lose anything).” Tina is currently seen in Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum with Jay Bhanushali.
The actress revealed a lot of other details about her life during the podcast, including the Bigg Boss 16 makers’ bias. She gave an update on her love life as well.
