EXCLUSIVE: Tina Datta on getting movie offers from Bollywood & South: I did not get very good projects

Tina Datta is one of the most popular and successful actresses in the TV industry. She started her career at a young age. Tina rose to fame for playing the role of Ichcha in the TV show Uttaran. Over the years, she has appeared in shows like Sister Nivedita, Khela, Durga, and Daayan among others. Apart from doing TV shows, she has also been a part of movies.

Speaking of that, she featured in the Bollywood film Parineeta, co-starring Saif Ali Khan and Vidya Balan. For the uninitiated, she played the role of young Lalita in the film. Now, in our new episode of Bollywood Bubble’s Podcast ‘Let’s Talk With Bollywood Bubble’, Tina opened up about getting offers from Bollywood, as well as the South industry.

Tina spills the beans on getting offers

Talking about Bollywood, Tina said, “I’m gonna be honest I did not get very good projects. So, if I had gotten like good characters, good projects then definitely I would have been like game. Paise bhi mat do yaar (don’t event give money) it’s ok but I just want to be a part of it. But, it’s not easy getting Bollywood movies.”

She further stated that things were different back then as digital media was not as strong as it is now.

Adding to that, Tina shared that she faced a lot of difficulties back then. The actress revealed that she received a lot of ‘wrong’ phone calls at that time. Tina said, “I got a lot of offers from South movies as well but nothing was a smooth ride for me. I was on the verge of signing contracts while I was doing Uttaran. So many South movies I got but nothing was you know where I could pour out my heart and say that I can do this. There were a lot of difficulties. It was not an wasy ride. Till date whatever South projects I get, it’s not ok yeh kar sakte hai aise wale (I can do this).”

During the candid conversation, Tina also slammed the makers of Bigg Boss 16 for being ‘biased’. That’s not all, she also opened up about her fight with Rashami Desai.

On the work front, Tina is currently seen as Surili Ahuja Banerjee in Hum Rahe Na Rahe Hum.
