EXCLUSIVE: Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhava is a period drama, CONFIRMS Bigg Boss voice Vijay Vikram Singh

Vicky Kaushal is currently on a roll. The actor is gearing up to arrive in theatres in the biopic of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, titled Sam Bahadur. And up next, he has another interesting project in the pipeline that he will be resuming shoot for soon. Vicky Kaushal will star in Laxman Utekar directed Chhava, and now we have a confirmation that it is a period drama.

Recently, the voice behind Bigg Boss, Vijay Vikram Singh, got in an exclusive podcast conversation with Bollywood Bubble. Talking about his upcoming projects, Bigg Boss voice Vijay Vikram Singh shared that he is working with Vicky Kaushal in Laxman Utekar’s next. While he didn’t reveal its name, the project is titled Chhava.

He said, “I play a small part in that but a prominent part thankfully. And that will be my first Bollywood theatrical release, because my first film Pooja Meri Jaan will be released on Netflix. The other theatrical release that I have had is Charlie 777 which was a Kannada movie which got released 2 years back. I haven’t had a theatrical Hindi release yet. To be working with such a strong star cast and such a fabulous director is amazing.”

Bigg Boss voice Vijay Vikram Singh went on to confirm the rumours as well that Chhava is indeed a period drama. He shared, “I’ll just go one step ahead and tell you that it’s a period drama. So, this is the first period drama for me and to be dressed in heavy costumes. I’m not used to spending too much time on my makeup and costume, this takes around 30-35 minutes just to dress up and and get the costume right and the look right. So that’s again a new thing for me, it’s amazing.” Reportedly, Vicky Kaushal will be essaying the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the eldest son of warrior King Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Chhava. The movie also reportedly features Rashmika Mandanna in the lead.

On meeting Vicky…  

Vijay went on to share that he hasn’t yet met Vicky. While he did shoot a scene that had them both, they didn’t interact as he didn’t want to ‘disturb’ him. He revealed that he wanted to introduce himself as he knew Vicky would come to promote Sam Bahadur on Bigg Boss 17 at this time. While it didn’t happen, he is sure that soon he will have his first interaction with Vicky.
