Vidya Balan talks about body shaming
During an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Vidya told us that she was abusing her body and was angry with her body. The Parineeta actor told us, “I’ve rejected one side of me. I accepted one to the exclusion of the other but there cannot be one without the other because otherwise I’d be walking as half a body. But I think these realisations only come with experience, with awareness, with acceptance and this acceptance takes a long time to realise. I was in battle with my body for the longest time. Because I felt like my body is not the body that the world expected me to have or my mother expected me to have.”

Vidya Balan added, “I’ve always grappled with that. After a while I realised that I’m abusing the body, I’m angry with the body I’m falling sick often. Why? Because even if it’s niggling issues constantly having some irritant or the other because you’re rejecting your body constantly. You realise that if it’s not for this body, I wouldn’t be alive. Who knows what happens after life, we don’t know that so let’s talk about the here and now. I’ve spent so many years hating my body and it’s pointless. If not for this body, there would be no me, I would not be sitting here.”
