Girish Johar on Allu Arjun led Pushpa 2 box office

When asked if Pushpa 2 has the potential to emerge as the biggest opener of all time, Girish says, “Part 2 has taken a sensational start across the box office, and there are no two ways about that. The feedback of the film is also extraordinary. The audience is completely enjoying the film. The beauty of the film part is that you know, it is the widest global release for any Indian film, with more than 12,000 screens. It’s also the wide act widest, IMAX release for any Indian film, and the advances are also record-breaking.”

Sharing his opinion on the estimated first-day collection of the film, Girish Johar believes the film can earn over Rs 200 crores. “And even today being a non-holiday, it is having a fantastic start. Breaking Jawan’s Hindi day 1 record is definitely on the eye, but surging ahead of animal, more than 55 crores is, it’s almost a given now. And I really hope, that globally the film is eyeing more than 200 crores at the box office today itself, which is no small achievement. And, we really hope that the, you know, this streak continues, through the days, and the coming weeks as well”, says the expert.

Talking about the film is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. Apart from Allu Arjun, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil.
