Earlier today, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal took the next step in their relationship and registered their marriage. The ‘Double XL’ co-stars – who were in a relationship for around 7 years, skipped traditional wedding ceremonies and instead opted for a civil wedding ceremony under the Special Marriage Act at the actress’ sea-facing residence in Bandra.
The newlyweds took social media a while ago and shared some love-filled pictures from the ceremony featuring the two of them as well as the actress’ father, actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha. While the reception festivities begin, let’s decode Sona’s bridal look. PS: A Filmfare report states that the saree and jewellery the actress is wearing belong to her mother, Poonam Sinha.
Sonakshi Sinha bridal look decoded
For the civil marriage ceremony – registered under the Special Marriage Act, Sonakshi Sinha opted for a simple white saree with intricate gold/beige embroidery work across its length. She paired the 6 yards of elegance with a matching matching blouse featuring printed lines that matched the embroidery perfectly. The actress skipped on the mehendi and opted for alta instead.
The actress completed her bridal look with matching earrings, a bracelet (on the right hand) and a chocker necklace of gold, diamonds and pearls, as well as two gold bangles on her left hand. Keeping the hairstyle simple, the actress opted to have her done in a low bun with a centre parting and a white rose gajra. Sona’s makeup for her big day consisted of nude lipstick, perfectly done brows, some eyeliner and mascara. Her bridal glow and a tiny shiny bindi completed her look perfectly.
Doesn’t she look perfect? We have to say, seeing Sonakshi dressed in her mom’s vintage saree and jewellery is a slap to all those who started rumours about there being tension between the mother and daughter over this union.
Zaheer Iqbal complimented his bride and looked dashing in a white kurta-pyjama set with floral embroidery work done in white thread. He accessorised his look with a big gold watch.
