Jayalalithaa
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and former Bollywood actress Jayalalithaa passed away on December 5, 2016. She was 68 years of age and was being treated for a heart ailment for quite a few months. Since September 22, she had been in hospital and on December 4, she got a major heart attack. The news of her demise started going viral, but it was confirmed only the next day, on December 5. She was best remembered as the CM of Tamil Nadu, but before venturing in politics, she had been a part of more than 120 movies in various languages like Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and English. Many top Bollywood celebs and politicians mourned over her untimely demise.
Mubarak Begum
Veteran playback singer Mubarak Begum passed away after battling with a long illness on July 18 this year. The Rajasthan born singer was 80 years of age. She had sung many Hindi songs, ghazals from 1950s-1970s. Her songs include 'Hum haal-e-dil sunayenghe', 'Kuchh ajnabi se aap hain' and many others.
Sulabha Deshpande
Veteran theatre artist and Hindi film actress Sulabha Deshpande passed away on June 4, 2016. She was 79 years of age and lost her life due to a prolonged illness. She was a part of some memorable movies like 'Bazaar', 'Ajeeb Dastaan', 'Virasat' and her last Hindi film was Gauri Shinde's 'English Vinglish' in 2012. She also acted in several Marathi plays and was even a part of Hindi TV serials like 'Rishtey', 'Tanha' and many others. Many top B-Town celebs, politicians, theatre artists and her colleagues expressed their condolences over her demise.
Razzak Khan
Actor Razzak Khan, best remembered for his role of Manikchand in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Baadshah', unfortunately passed away on June 1, 2016. He was 65 years of age and lost his life due to a severe heart attack. He was rushed to Holy Family Hospital in Bandra, but doctors declared him as dead on arrival. He has worked in movies like 'Joru Ka Ghulam', 'Hello Brother', 'Kyaa Kool Hain Hum', to name a few. In the year 2014, he had also made an appearance on Kapil Sharma's show 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'.
Vikas Mohan
A well-known trade analyst, producer Vikas Mohan passed away on May 31, 2016. He suffered a heart attack. He had produced the Madhuri Dixit and Akshay Kumar-starrer flick 'Aarzoo' in the year 1999. Many Bollywood celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, Hrithik Roshan had expressed their condolences.
Rajesh Vivek
The hot-headed Guran from Aamir Khan-starrer 'Lagaan', Rajesh Vivek passed away at the age of 66. He died due to a major heart attack in Hyderabad on January 14 this year. He was shooting for a South film at the time and had a cardiac arrest that led to his untimely death. He was seen in movies like ‘Bunty Aur Babli’, ‘Bhoot Unkle’, ‘What's Your Raashee?’, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Son of Sardaar’ among others.
The year 2016 has been an eventful one for many, but for some it has been the most unfortunate year of their lives. Some celebrities of B-Town passed away suddenly due to health issues leaving only memories of their glorious years in Bollywood.
