‘Dear Zindagi’
We live in a weird world and run the weird races for success, fame, money and what not? However, the tougher part is, you are always expected to put a brave face and get going. In the process of dressing up and showing up everyday, your mind will be prone to scars and illness, just like your body. And trust us, it is absolutely okay to seek help when your mind isn’t at its best. Contrary to the stereotypical notions, a professional who understands and treats psychology is as good as a doctor who treats your body. Also, know that you can’t always win it. At times, it is okay to fail, take a break, and try again. It is okay to make mistakes and put yourself through hard times; because they’re preparing you for everything you once asked for.
‘PINK’
If you’re a woman, you will be often made to feel that your very existence is a crime. You’re here to be loved, cherished and treated equally. So when someone shreds your self-esteem and treats you like a commodity, do not bear the suffering silently. Tell the truth, and stick to the truth. However scary and lonely the journey to justice might be, it will pay off. Remember the old proverb? Justice can be delayed, but never denied.
‘Kahaani 2’
Unlike what we believe, the best of relationships often develop out of nowhere. You never know when and how you come across someone who would change the course of your life; or vice versa. Keep the love and compassion alive, choose the ones who need you, play an angel. Life is one, life is beautiful, and life is to be shared!
‘Befikre’
Logic might let you down, emotions do not. When in a conflict between the heart and the brain, follow your heart. Heart is the magic that keeps the world going, even amidst so much of scarcity and crisis. Fall in love, spread your hands to help, live how you want to; and there will be no space for regret. Albert Einstein once said, “I never came upon any of my discoveries through the process of rational thinking.” Explains everything, right?
‘Dhanak’
‘Manzil mil hi jayegi bhatakte hi sahi, gumrah toh woh hai jo ghar se nikle hi nahi’! Set out for your journey, or else your mission will remain unaccomplished forever. Remember the little girl who left home because she wanted to bring vision to her blind brother’s eyes? It is all on you to determine what you really want to achieve. Next, give everything it requires you to give. Psst: When sought with love, what you seek will seek you too.
‘Kapoor & Sons’
The few who will stick to you through your thick and thin are the ones who saw you coming to this world and loved you despite your flaws and shortcomings. Prioritisation is very important. No matter where life takes you, spare some time and spend it with your family. Expressions of gratitude are least spoken and mostly done. Why not take a moment to surprise them, make them happy and thank them for being there?
‘Ki & Ka’
You need to know how to cook; not because you’re a man or a woman, but because you need food! If you still believe in forced gender roles, then do not blame us for judging you. It is about time we understood that performers are to be judged on their skills and not on their genders. Do not be ashamed to be a man who makes excellent food or a woman who has great riding skills. There’s nothing called a man’s job or a woman’s job. Evil practises do not end until you deliberately put an end to them.
‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’
The greatest achievers once started being the most ordinary ones. There is no substitute of hard work and tenacity. If you want to get there, set your goals, start working on them and do not quit until you reach your destination. After all, success takes no short cuts!
It is that time of the year when we look back at the days gone by, reminisce the memories and note the mistakes. Victories, losses, tears, laughter, friends turning strangers and strangers turning friends; what an eventful year it has been! As the curtains of 2016 are about to fall, here’s how Bollywood reminded us of important life lessons. Have a look!
