PadMan
'PadMan' is an upcoming Bollywood film which stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. It's a biopic which is inspired from the life of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social activist from Tamil Nadu who revolutionised the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine. The film is all set to release on January 26. The film's trailer has already garnered a lot of buzz. Looks like Akshay will kick off 2018 with yet another blockbuster.
Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran
The film is based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran, in 1998. It stars Bollywood's hunk John Abraham, Boman Irani and Diana Penty. The film was earlier slated to release in December 2017 but the makers decided to release the film in 2018 as they didn't want the film to clash with 'Padmavati'. The film will now release on Februrary 3.
Dutt Biopic
One of the most awaited films of 2018, Dutt Biopic mayn't have yet got the official title but has been tentatively named 'Sanju'. Based on controversial life of actor Sanjay Dutt, the film will show Sanjay's film career,jail sentence and personal life. The film boasts a number of leading actors of tinsel town and actors like Anushka Sharma, Sonam Kapoor, Tabu, Dia Mirza, Paresh Rawal, Sunil Dutt, Boman Irani, Manisha Koirala are part of this film. It will hit theatres on March 30.
Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi
'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' is an upcoming Indian epic biographical film about the life of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi, and her war against the British East India Company, during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The film stars Bollywood's Queen Kangana Ranaut in the lead. The film is directed by National Award winning director Krish Jagarlamudi who is prominently known for his films down south. The film also stars Sonu Sood, Ankita Lokhande and veteran actors like Suresh Oberoi, Suresh Oberoi in prominent roles. The film is slated to release on April 27.
Raazi
Raazi is a period thriller film directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Karan Johar. The film features Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. It is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel 'Calling Sehmat' which is about a Kashmiri spy married to a Pakistani man during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. The film is slated to release on May 11, 2018.
Gold
Director Reema Kagti's 'Gold 'is a sports biography. Set in 1948, the historic story of India's first Olympic medal post independence. The film stars Akshay Kumar in the lead along with tv actress Mouni Roy, Kunal Kapoor and others. The film is slated to release on August 15.
Super 30
'Super 30' is based on life of Patna-based mathematician Anand Kumar who runs the famed Super 30 program for IIT aspirants in Patna. The film is directed by National Award winner Vikas Bahl. Bollywood's very own Greek god Hrithik Roshan will be seen playing the lead in the film. Bobby Deol, Aditi Rao Hydari, Nishikant Kamat also are part of the film. The film is slated to release on November 23 this year.
The Accidental Prime Minister
The Accidental Prime Minister is an Indian biographical political film written by Hansal Mehta. The film will see Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh, who served as the Prime Minister of India from 2004 to 2014. It is directed by Vijay Gutte, and is based on the 2014 memoir of the same name by Sanjaya Baru. The Accidental Prime Minister is scheduled to release in somewhere of the winter season of 2018.
