The iconic Bollywood classic Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completed 24 years of release on Sunday. The film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji was released on October 16 in 1988. And, it was written and directed by Karan Johar. The romantic comedy was a huge hit after its release. It was made on a budget of 10 crore approx and went on to collect approximately 1.07 billion at the box office.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul Khanna played the role of the main lead actor in the Karan Johar directorial. He won hearts with his boyish charms and performance. According to the reports, Shah Rukh was the highest-paid actors in the cast of the film as he took home a fees of Rs 1 crore.

Kajol

Kajol, one of the main leads in the film played the role of Anjali Sharma. Her chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan in the film was much loved, as always. The actress reportedly got paid Rs 30 lakhs as fees.

Rani Mukerji

Rani Mukerji, who played the role of Tina Malhotra won a Filmfare award for her role as a supporting actor in the film. She was reportedly paid Rs 13 lakhs for her role.

Salman Khan

Salman Khan made a charming cameo appearance in the film. He played the role of Anjani Sharma’s fiance. The actor was in the movie as Aman Mehra. And, reportedly, he was paid a fees of Rs 12 lakhs for his cameo performance.

Sana Saeed

Sana Saeed played the role of Anjali Khanna, daughter of Rahul Khanna and Tina Malhotra, in the movie. She was paired with Shah Rukh and Kajol. The young actor was paid reportedly Rs 25 thousand, for a role.

Anupam Kher

Anupam Kher played the role of Principal Ravikant Malhotra, Tina’s father. He was paid a whopping sum of Rs 5 lakhs as fees, reportedly.

Archana Puran Singh

Archana Puran Singh was seen as the college professor, Mrs Braganza, in the movie. She also was Anupam Kher aka Principal Malhotra’s love interest in the film. The actress got paid Rs 2.50 lakh as fees for a role.

Fareeda Jalal

Fareeda Jalal played the role of Rahul Khanna’s mother Savita Devi. She got paid reportedly Rs 5 lakhs as fees for a role in the movie.

Reema Lagoo

Reema Lagoo played the role of Anjali Sharma’s mother, Ramnika Sharma. The actress got paif a whopping 4 lakhs for her role, according to the reports.

Johnny Lever

Johnny Lever played the role of Colonel Almeida, the camp manager, in the film. He won hearts with his comic timing and humour. The actor was paid a fees of Rs 1 Lakh, as per reports.

Himani Shivpuri

Himani Shivpuri essayed the character of the hostel warden, Rifat Qazi in the film. She reportedly got paid Rs 90 thousand as fees.

Meanwhile, the Karan Johar directorial bagged two National Film Awards at the 46th National Film Awards. It also received almost 8 Filmfare awards, among other notable awards.
