Anurag Kashyap’s last directorial ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ was based on the famous serial killer, Raman Raghav. It was not his best work, but it was not even the worst. Though it got mixed reviews from the critics, the film was unfortunately a flop at the box office.

‘Ugly’ was more in news for the legal tussle between Anurag and CBFC over the no-smoking disclaimer. However, once the movie released, it got thumbs up from the critics. ‘Ugly’ is surely a must watch.
‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ – Part 1 and 2
Anurag Kashyap was getting praises for his dark films, but he took a turn towards commercial cinema with ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ – Part 1 and 2. The gangster flick had everything that made it a perfect massy film. The movies proved to be a profitable venture for its makers.
‘Dev.D’
‘Dev.D’ starring Abhay Deol, Mahi Gill and Kalki Koechlin was a modern day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic Bengali novel ‘Devdas’. However, Anurag Kashyap had made the film quite bold with cuss words and love making scenes.
‘Black Friday’
The first one in the list is ‘Black Friday’. The movie which was based on the 1993 Bombay bomb blasts was banned by CBFC for three years due to its controversial content. It had finally hit the screens in 2007 and received positive reviews.
Anurag Kashyap is known for making dark out-of-the-box films. While he has made some not so good films like ‘No Smoking’ and ‘Bombay Velvet’, he has also made some really interesting films which got immense critical acclaim.
