Badal in ‘Barsaat’
'Barsaat' is special; for it marked Bobby's Bollywood debut. They say, a strong foundation ensures a strong construction. If not for 'Barsaat', he probably wouldn't establish his credibility as an actor at the very first go. He got into the skin of a naive man from village who comes to the big city and falls in love. His character was much relatable. He romanced Twinkle Khanna in this one. His performance got him a Filmfare award for best debut.
Raju Malhotra in ‘Soldier’
The 1998 film 'Soldier' is still one of the most successful films Bobby ever featured in. It had him playing a murderer, an absconder and a romantic lover boy as well. He slayed the roles with great conviction. His chemistry with Preity Zinta was much appreciated as well.
Raj Singhania in ‘Humraaz’
'Humraaz' got Bobby a nomination for Filmfare's best actor category, although he lost it later. The story has fair share of a love triangle, greed for money and enough twists. He plays a rich businessman in the film, who falls for a dancer (Ameesha Patel).
Badal in ‘Badal’
'Badal' was inspired by 'The Devil's Own', a Hollywood flick that starred Brad Pitt and Harrison Ford. Bobby's character is that of one with a tragic childhood and sole motive of taking revenge on a cruel police officer who destroyed his family. Rani Mukerji essayed the leading lady's part in the film.
Gajodhar Singh in ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’
Dharmendra had starred in the 1975 film 'Pratigya' which had a song titled 'Main Jat Yamla Pagla Deewana'. Years later, director Samir Karnik picked those three words to make a new film. It is one the very few films where Dharmendra and tow sons Bobby and Sunny came together. Bobby plays a manliving happily with his mother, who suddenly comes to know that his father is a robber. Years later in 2013, 'Yamla Pagla Deewana 2' came out, but wasn't a success.
