Today, Alia Bhatt took everyone by storm when she released the much-awaited trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi online. Right from Alia’s acting prowess to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s powerful direction, Gangubai Kathiawadi stands out and leaves an impact on people. Even fans were lauding Alia and the powerful performance that she has portrayed in the film. However, there are certain things that have not only demanded our attention but also made us impatient to watch the film.
Take a look at the reasons to look forward to watching Gangubai Kathiawadi:
Alia Bhatt as Gangubai is an alpha female:
There’s something charming and pleasing about women-centric films. Yes, we have to say women-centric specifically because most of the films are dominant with male superstars. We absolutely love to see a woman essaying a badass character on screen and Alia is doing complete justice. Gangubai is someone who has gone through misery and struggle and hence, wanted the kids to have a better future unlike her. She is a no-nonsense lady and ensures that no man has the right to control or dictate her life other than herself. Alia plays the queen of Mumbai, the brothel owner very effortlessly. It looks like she might even bag a National Award this time as Alia looks that promising as Gangubai in the trailer.
Ajay Devgn’s Dhasu entry:
Ajay will have a special appearance as he essays the role of Lala in the film who seems to be the owner of Kathiawadi before Alia starts ruling it. However, there also seems to be a connection between Gangubai and Lala that will only be explored in the film but it looks pretty intense and eye-catching. Even though he was seen for a few seconds in the trailer, Ajay’s presence is quite captivating. His entry was quite disturbing as he smashes a person’s head but it gives an idea of what to expect in the store.
Vijay Raaz as Razia is fearless:
This man has outdone himself once again. The actor who usually plays unconventional and diverse roles was once again seen playing an uncustomary role in Gangubai Kathiawadi where he essays the role of Raziabai, a transgender. Vijay in the woman getup looks pretty substantial. The character is shown fearless and someone who will not give up easily on whatever he owns. Even though he seems to be the supporting cast, you can’t ignore his powerful presence.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnificent art:
The filmmaker is a prolific director. He knows how to put his art and creativity in the movies that stand out from the crowd. Hence, you will only trust SLB when it comes to period drama or grandeur films. Having said that, Sanjay’s direction is at par excellence, and this is being said just by seeing the trailer. He has the vision to make small things creatively. Even though the trailer had a major hangover of Ramleela, this latest directorial venture looks propitious.
Massy dialogues:
Dialogues like “Kunwari apne chhoda nahi, Shrimati kisine banaya nahi” or “Gangu Chaand thi aur Chaand rahegi” are fierce AF! You automatically know that these dialogues are massy that has all the potential to attract the audience. Plus, dialogues mouthed in Alia’s accent is like a cherry on the top.
