7th highest weekend grosser of 2023

With the collection of Rs 43.11 crore, OMG 2 has become the seventh-highest opening weekend grosser of the year after Pathaan (Rs 280.75 crore), Gadar 2 (134.88 crore), Adipurush (103 crore), KKBKKJ (Rs 68.17 crore), TJMM (Rs 70.64 crore) and RRKPK (Rs 45.90 crore).

Akshay Kumar has been one of the most consistent performers at the box office. However, after Sooryavanshi, the box-office collections of his releases were underwhelming. But the Khiladi is now back with a bang as OMG 2 has proved to be a relief for him. This is the 26th film in his career with such an opening. Yami Gautam essays the role of a lawyer in the flick. Because of her effortless portrayal and engaging courtroom drama between her and Pankaj Tripathi, the film is appreciated. The film is her second biggest opener after Kaabil (Rs 10.43 cr). Not only this, it is also her 3rd highest weekend grosser after Kaabil (Rs 67.46 cr) and Bala (Rs 43.95 cr).

Pankaj Tripathi’s second biggest opener after Super 30

The actor manages to leave an indelible mark with his performance every time he appears on-screen. While we see him in an impactful role in OMG 2, with its opening day collection, the film has become the second biggest opener of his career. The first spot is grabbed by Super 30, which earned Rs 11.83 cr on its opening day.
