venom, venom the last dance, eddie brock,

The Venom franchise has captivated audiences with its endearing portrayal of the titular symbiote, with Eddie Brock and Venom emerging as fan favourites due to their quick-witted humour and engaging banter. The recently released trailer of the upcoming Venom: The Last Dance, has further cemented their on-screen chemistry.

While the duo’s dynamic is undeniably unique, one can’t help but be reminded of some of Bollywood’s iconic pairings. Ahead of the film’s new trailer release, here’s a glimpse at 6 Bollywood duos who remind us of the chemistry the duo share.

6 Bollywood duos that bear a striking resemblance to Venom and Eddie Brock

Jay and Ali from Dhoom

In the Dhoom franchise, Abhishek Bachchan plays Jai, a dedicated police officer, while Uday Chopra plays his quirky and lovable sidekick, Ali. Together, they embark on exhilarating adventures to capture notorious thieves, creating a perfect balance of action, humour, and camaraderie, much like what we see in the Venom Franchise.

Arjun Singh and Pyare Mohan from Bade Miyan Aur Chote Miyan

Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda play two lookalikes, Arjun Singh and Pyare Mohan, in the iconic Bollywood comedy film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. Despite their contrasting personalities, the duo are forced to work together to save the day, and they bring out the best in each other despite their misgivings.

Jai and Veeru from Sholay

Sholay is the story of friends Jai and Veeru (Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra, respectively), two anti-heroes who set out to save a village. Much like Eddie and Venom, the partnership between Jai and Veeru is an unlikely one, due to their contrasting personalities, but one that develops into a strong bond despite their differences.

Junaid and Kabir from Dishoom

Dishoom centres on two police officers assigned to save an abducted Indian cricketer from a cricket bookie. Varun Dhawan and John Abraham play two contrasting characters, Junaid and Kabir, who are forced to work together to solve a kidnapping case. Their dynamic shares similarities with Eddie Brock and Venom’s relationship, with Varun being more carefree while John is the serious one. Their contrasting personalities and eventual bonding make their duo similar to Eddie Brock and Venom.

Munna Bhai and Circuit from Munna Bhai

The most loveable gangster in town, Munna (Sanjay Dutt) not only went around fixing the world with his simple, pure-hearted ways but he also had a wingman in Circuit (Arshad Warsi) who would do nearly ANYTHING Munna would ask of him, including abducting Chinese tourists in broad daylight. Aside from the obvious similarities and the characters being anti-heroes, what the pairings of Munna-Circuit and Eddie-Venom have in common is their loyalty and pure-hearted need to make the world a better place.

Bikram and Bala from Gunday

In the 2014 film Gunday, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor play Bikram and Bala, two orphans affected by the partition. How they rise from being nobodies to outlaws is the crux of the story. Throughout the film, the two work together, argue and even fight (much like Eddie and Venom do in the second film) but eventually realise that they work best when together. Bikram and Bala’s complex relationship, banter, and contrasting personalities make their friendship similar to the bond between Venom and Eddie.
