Ranbir Kapoor
Ranbir Kapoor made his debut under director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, in the movie 'Saawariya'. His image reminded everyone starkly of his grandfather Raj Kapoor, and though the movie could not be a success at the box office, it was Ranbir's charm and act of a man so in love that won everyone over, and he bagged all the Best debut trophies that year. Since then, there has been no looking back for him. Ranbir has proved his mettle as an actor time and again and played an array of roles in movies like 'Rockstar', 'Tamasha', 'Wake Up Sid', 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', to name a few. In his 10th Bollywood year, Ranbir will be seen playing the title role in the unnamed Sanjay Dutt biopic, as a teenage detective in 'Jagga Jasoos', and in a fantasy role in 'Dragon'.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone had made a dream debut in Bollywood opposite superstar Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Om Shanti Om’. The actress went on to win all the Awards for the Best Debut (Female) that year. She instantly shot to fame, and in the following decade, was seen in many notable performances in films like ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Cocktail’, ‘Chennai Express’ to ‘Piku’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’. After making a solid mark in Bollywood films, Deepika made a successful debut in Hollywood with ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ opposite Vin Diesel in 2017. Her tenth year in Bollywood will be marked with the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmavati' wherein she will be playing the title role of brave queen Padmavati.
Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor had made her Bollywood debut with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Saawariya’ along with another debutant actor Ranbir Kapoor. Though the film wasn’t that successful, Sonam left a mark with her performance. The actress has since then went on to become a fashion icon, and has also given succesful films like ‘I Hate Luv Storys’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Khoobsurat’ and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. With films like ‘Raanjhanaa’ and ‘Neerja’, Sonam has also proved her calibre as a serious and intense performer. Sonam’s tenth year in Bollywood will see her teaming up with actress Kareena Kapoor Khan and Swara Bhaskar for their upcoming film ‘Veerey Di Wedding’ . She will also be playing a pivotal role in Sanjay Dutt's biopic which features her debut film co-star Ranbir Kapoor in the title role.
Neil Nitin Mukesh
Neil Nitin Mukesh made a rather uncoventional debut. Rather than playing safe, he went and did the dark neo-noir film 'Johnny Gaddaar'. Though we had seen him as a child actor in movies like 'Jaisi Karni Waisi Bharnii' and 'Vijay', but this was the first time Neil the actor was presented before us. His versatility as a performer can be judged from his roles in movies like 'Players', 'New York', 'Wazir', 'Jail', 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo', and more. He will next be seen in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Indu Sarkar', which is allegedly inspired from the life of former prime minister, Late Indira Gandhi.
Darsheel Safary
Darsheel made his debut with Aamir Khan's 'Taare Zameen Par' and we instantly warmed up to the naughty dyslexic kid. There was not a single dry eye while watching this little kid's performance in the movie. He was indeed the 'chota packet bada dhamaka' of the year, and bagged many accolades and awards for the same, not to forget that he became the youngest ever actor to win the Filmfare Award for The Best Actor (Critics). Can't believe that ten years have already passed and this kid, who is now a fine young lad is all set for his adult debut with the teenage love story 'Quickie'.
‘Promising talent’, these are the first words every debutant in Bollywood wishes to hear after doing his or her first film. Every year there are many actors, filmmakers, technicians who start with their journey in this exciting world of films especially the Hindi film industry (Bollywood). But, only a few of them achieve a mark and leave behind a deep impression in the hearts of their fans. And among them, one such mark is the successful completion of working in films for a decade.
